So here is where we went. . . didn’t want to have anything too bulky. .. so we looked at white as well as the matching woodgrain, at a short cabinet, and at a sloped one. Also decided later in the process to slip a spice cabinet in to replace a small one that was in the same position.

This is where we ended up, rendering-wise.

And here is where we ended up in the real world. Made the spice rack taller, but left the bottom shelves open to preserve the open look below the hood. It also gave us a place to put our most commonly used spices for easy access.
